Tomorrow (Friday) is Grand Day at Goodpasture. I know most of you all have been out of the loop this year since the high school is only participating as hosts/hostesses. However, my three munchkins can hardly wait for Nanny and Pawpaw to come see their cool stuff! To me, it's exciting to see them so eager to show off their classrooms and their work. That leads me to my next point: I have been busy helping find pictures to print for family trees and for drawings for all 3--it's been a little touch of madness! However, I think I am most excited about the faculty/student softball game! Although it's been a few years since I've officially played softball, I'm sure I haven't lost all of my skills (not that I had many to begin with). I hope you all enjoy the sunshine, the music, and the awesome athletic prowess your GCS teachers will exhibit (tee-hee!). It should be a wonderful way to end the week!!!
EXTRA CREDIT POST: By the end of the day Monday, April 11, tell me your favorite part of the faculty/student softball game and why. No, you cannot just give a phrase--Post your thoughtful, well-written response by the deadline to receive a few points of extra credit. I hope there are many humorous events you guys can share with me!
I am an odd soul and as such I pride myself on maintaining healthy and entertaining relationships with teachers. I enjoy talking to and pestering all of you. Whilst pestering various faculty members, I've shared several inside jokes with some of you. All of that made heckling the teachers one of my favorite parts of the game. I thoroughly enjoyed pestering Coach Ayer about his shoes and poking fun at your walk-up song.
ReplyDeleteAside from that, though: It was fun to see kids who don't always hang out with each other join forces and try to beat all of you crazy people in a game at which I fail miserably.
All in all, I enjoy watching people do something I cannot: exhibit athletic ability... and if I can heckle some people while I'm at it, then awesome. :)
In my opinion, the walk up songs have always been my favorite part because they tend to be chosen by someone else to make fun of the person at bat. This year, the game was almost ruined for me when Austin Fuller discovered there was no power! Thankfully, a different outlet was suggested to him, and that solved the problem.

The best part of the softball game is hearing all of the songs that are played. Seeing the songs the teachers pick is so awesome! Everyone is always curious to see what songs the teachers will pick, and most of the time everyone laughs at what they pick. It is just so awesome, and I love watching the teachers and seniors play. Everyone gets into it! I cant wait to play next year, it will be so exciting!!
